Barlage Hockey Academy

2026 Spring Skills Camp

With ice available again this spring in Humboldt, Barlage Hockey Academy is excited to announce our 5th Annual Spring Skills Camp at the EPA on Thursday evenings and Saturdays throughout April.

Over the past four years, this camp has continued to grow and improve. What started as an opportunity to provide quality local development has become a structured and proven program built around progression, detail, and real results. After running five camps, I have refined the format, drill selection, and teaching approach to maximize player improvement in a short period of time.

These sessions are designed for players of all skill levels who want to build confidence and develop skills that transfer directly into game situations.

Why train with Barlage Hockey Academy?

1.High Level Playing Experience

As a former 5 year WHL player with the Swift Current Broncos, Lethbridge Hurricanes, and Medicine Hat Tigers, along with attending Colorado Avalanche Development Camp, I gained firsthand knowledge of what it takes to reach the next level. I recently graduated from the University of Regina Cougars program, finishing my university career while continuing to grow my understanding of the modern game.

Players benefit from both elite playing experience and five years of running structured spring development camps.

  1. Elite Skill Development

Each session is built with purpose and progression. Focus areas include:

  • Puck control and deception
  • Shooting mechanics and quick release
  • Skating and edge work
  • Overspeed drills
  • Small area competitive games

Players will receive high repetitions, detailed instruction, and drills designed to simulate real game situations so the skills translate directly into games.

  1. High Tempo and Competitive Environment

Sessions are fast paced, competitive, and engaging. Players are pushed outside their comfort zones in a positive environment that encourages work ethic, confidence, and accountability.

  1. Take Home skill work

Players will receive take home drills and skill progressions they can continue working on outside of camp. The goal is to build habits that carry beyond the ice sessions and encourage consistent development.
